He has lectured at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor), London School of Economics, Singapore Management University, Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (Singapore), Duke University, University of Maryland, World Bank (Washington DC), IMF (SARTTAC), Indian Institute of Management (IIM, Ahmedabad), IIM (Lucknow), and IIM (Indore).
After a 11-month high growth of 5.5 per cent in February, India’s eight key infrastructure sector shrank 6.5 per cent in March as manufacturing and economy crawled in a nearly eight-week long lockdown. Partial opening of lockdown has seen certain sectors like Road transport bouncing back to 70% of pre-Covid traffic, while the Aviation industry will take much longer to get back to normal. Liquidity issues faced by most corporates in the current pandemic has created a supply and demand side risk. As Indian infrastructure assets generally attract a lot of foreign funds, stress on the ratings and possible downgrades could test the ability of the domestic institutions to attract new investments in the short and medium term.
