Biography
Stephanie Shelmerdine is a Managing Director in RBC Real Estate Capital Partners, a unit of the Royal Bank of Canada, focusing on evaluating, structuring and executing European real estate finance transactions. Prior to joining RBC, Stephanie spent six years as a finance lawyer at Allen & Overy LLP in their London and Paris offices, where she advised lenders, private equity funds and other investors in the UK and continental Europe on all aspects of real estate finance transactions. Stephanie has particular expertise in financing pan-European property acquisitions, debt on debt finance in relation to the acquisition of distressed loan portfolios and structured transactions with intercreditor arrangements. Stephanie holds an undergraduate degree in Theology from Cambridge University and a post-graduate degree in law from the College of Law. Stephanie is passionate about increasing gender diversity in the real estate industry, at all levels and through all sectors.
