The US single-family rental segment has attracted institutional investors for a long time due to its low public market exposure and stabilized prices. However, as COVID-19 has accelerated various demographic trends and heavily impacted the performance of traditional assets such as retail, hospitality and offices, more and more players grow interested in single-family rentals. Moreover, stay-at-home orders have caused people to seek more space (and greener pastures) in the suburbs, accelerating recent demographic trends, which have seen millennials move out of major cities.

Widely recognized as a leader in the industry by multiple publications and organizations, he received the CREFC Founders Award and the Distinguished Service Award from the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) for his leadership. In addition, Mr. Ellenzweig is a member of Tricon’s Investment Committee and manages Tricon’s San Francisco office.
