Foi Técnico de Planejamento e Pesquisa do IPEA, e assumiu os seguintes cargos em Brasília: Coordenador-Geral de Política Monetária e Financeira na Secretaria de Política Econômica no Min. da Fazenda (1995-1997), Ass. da Comissão de Desenvolvimento Regional e de Turismo do Senado Federal (2005-2006) e Ass. Econômico do Senador Tasso Jereissati. Em 2016, assumiu o cargo de Sec. de Acompanhamento Fiscal, Energia e Loteria (SEFEL) do Min. da Fazenda em Brasília e, de abril de 2018 a julho de 2020 comandou a Sec.
