The privatization of the Port of Santos aims to bring more efficiency to the services of the main port complex in Brazil and Latin America. With a location close to the main consumer market in the country and access by road and rail to the main productive regions, the Port Complex of Santos is the largest in Latin America and handles more than 100 million tons per year.

Currently, the port is managed by the Santos Port Authority (SPA), a public company linked to the Ministry of Infrastructure. The expectation is that both privatization processes will leverage private investments and that the new controllers will promote efficiency gains and increase the competitiveness of the ports.

GRI members will meet online to discuss the process of privatization of the port authority of the Port of Santos, Santos Port Authority (SPA), highlighting modeling, tariff issues, competition and asset protection, concession of the ports of Santos and São Sebastião, the SPA disposition, incentives and rebalancing of the contract, etc.
