Peter Pereira Gray
Biography
Peter Pereira Gray served as Managing Director, Investment Division, at The Wellcome Trust, playing a crucial role in its global investment strategy for over two decades. Joining in 2001, he eventually held the titles of Managing Partner and CEO of the Investments team. Under his leadership, Wellcome's assets grew substantially, reaching £38.2 billion by September 2021, and the investment division delivered exceptional long-term returns. His contributions significantly enabled the funding of Wellcome's charitable mission, including strategic investments and the expansion of the Wellcome Genome Campus research facilities. He retired from his executive responsibilities in September 2022, but remains involved as an emeritus partner.
