John Harbert

John Harbert was recently elevated to Executive Vice President with management of HMC’s European Real Estate platform in addition to firm-wide data and technology initiatives. He initially joined HMC in 2011 in the Capital Formation group in New York and then London. In 2018, he transitioned to HMC’s U.S. Real Estate strategy focusing on transactions in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic U.S. regions, and was promoted to Director of Investments in 2022. In 2024, Mr. Harbert was named Senior Vice President focusing on firm-wide strategic initiatives including data and technology strategy, corporate responsibility, business development and capital formation. Mr. Harbert earned a Master of Business Administration from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School and holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Virginia.
