Mauro Benevides Filho

Mauro Benevides Filho is a Federal Deputy at the Chamber of Deputies of Brazil, where he also serves as the Coordinator of the Mixed Parliamentary Front for Tax Reform. Holding a Ph.D. in Economics from Vanderbilt University, he has a strong background in economic and fiscal policy. Prior to his current role, Benevides Filho held various key positions, including Secretary of Finance for the Municipality of Fortaleza and Secretary of Planning and Coordination, Government, Administration, and Finance for the State of Ceará. He has been re-elected for his second term as a Federal Deputy and has been instrumental in significant economic legislation, notably acting as the rapporteur for a bill that established the Managing Committee for the Tax on Goods and Services as part of Brazil's Tax Reform. His work focuses on fiscal adjustment and reducing tax inequality.
