O Grupo Tavares de Melo (GTM) sempre manteve sua linha de atuação conciliando boas práticas de gestão, com responsabilidade e resultados sustentáveis. A história do grupo iniciou-se em 1920, quando Arthur Tavares de Melo adquiriu o Engenho Olho D´Àgua, no município de Camutanga, em Pernambuco. Em 1928, Arthur Tavares de Melo se associou ao sogro Samuel Hardman e ao cunhado José Hardman e transformou o engenho na Usina Central Olho D’Água.
