Biography
Abel Castro serves as the Chief Development Officer (CDO) Americas at Accor, overseeing development for the Premium, Midscale & Economy division. With over two decades of experience in the hospitality industry, he is instrumental in defining and implementing Accor's expansion strategies across its diverse portfolio of brands, including Fairmont, Novotel, Mercure, and Ibis. Castro has a proven track record of transforming ideas into successful hotel projects, with notable achievements including the Ibis Copacabana and Novotel Recife. His career at Accor spans over 19 years, during which he rose from development manager to Senior Vice President of Development for the Americas and Caribbean. He also gained international experience by coordinating development in Florida and engaging with Latin American investors for US projects. Castro is recognized for his strategic vision and contributions to shaping the future of hospitality in Brazil and the Americas.
