Duncan MacPherson is a Managing Director and Head of Capital Markets, International for Starwood Capital Group. In this role, Mr. MacPherson is responsible for all debt capital markets activities for Starwood Capital in Europe, including financing, foreign exchange and interest rate hedging for the Firm’s European investments. He is a member of Starwood’s Investment Committee. Prior to joining Starwood Capital in 2012, Mr. MacPherson spent six years at Citigroup, where he served as a Director on the commercial real estate finance team in London. Before that, he held a number of roles at Barclays Capital, including trading bond options on the exotic interest rate derivatives desk, and developing real-timing pricing and risk systems for the firm’s electronic trading platform. Mr. MacPherson received a B.S. degree in physics from the University of Edinburgh and an M.S. in information technology systems from the University of Strathclyde.

Samir Amichi is a Senior Managing Director in the Real Estate Group and the Head of Real Estate Europe Acquisitions, based in London. Since joining Blackstone in 2011, Mr. Amichi has been involved in a number of Blackstone’s investments in Europe, including OfficeFirst, the Banco Popular portfolio, and the GE European portfolio. Previously, Mr. Amichi spent seven years in Goldman Sachs International real estate private equity group focused on equity and debt investment opportunities in Europe and two years at The Richemont Group overseeing the set-up and growth of its global real estate investment business. Mr. Amichi received an MS in Management from the HEC business school in Paris, where he majored in Economics.

Seb d'Avanzo (London) joined KKR in 2016 and is a Director in the European real estate team. Prior to joining KKR, Mr. d'Avanzo was a principal at H.I.G. Capital working in the European real estate team and focusing on transactions in the U.K. and the Nordics. Before that, he was head of acquisitions for Solstra Capital based in London. From 2005 until 2011, Mr. d'Avanzo was at MGPA, the global opportunistic real estate investment firm, focusing primarily on Southern Europe and latterly the Nordics. He began his career in investment banking at NM Rothschild & Sons. He holds a MA from Oxford University and an MBA from NYU Stern.

As Region Head, Ms. Stroh is responsible for GIC’s real estate equity and debt investment activities across Europe. These real estate assets span multiple property sectors, including traditional office, retail, residential, industrial, hospitality, and newer economic sectors. Ms. Stroh is a voting member of GIC RE’s Global Investment Committee, an active member of the firm’s sustainability committee, and a leader in the Women in GIC Taskforce.

Fiona is a Managing Director and Head of Real Estate Capital Markets UK, based in London. She has been based in the UK since 2001, with c.20 years of experience in the real estate sector, spanning investment banking, debt funds and advisory in the UK and Europe. She started her career at Deutsche Bank in London, focusing on European large loan origination for CMBS/syndication exit and was most recently investing in UK and European real estate whole loans, senior loans and mezzanine loans at the real estate debt funds of Intermediate Capital Group and latterly M&G Investments, prior to joining BNP Paribas in 2017. At BNP Paribas, she is responsible for running the real estate financing and coverage business in the UK.
