Mexico recently announced Phase 3 of the COVID-19 pandemic as its number of confirmed cases started to peak. At the moment, only Mexico City has announced the suspension of private construction works in the city, which according to CMIC, may leave more than 275,000 people without a job. Although construction continues in other states, cement plants and other supply chain players have also suspended their operations. President Obrador announced a reactivation plan that includes 1 million credits for the construction, expansion and improvements of homes in Mexico. Yet according to Moody's, COVID-19 will have a detrimental effect on the housing sector, despite the measures that are being implemented to promote the sector. This eMeeting will gather housing leaders, from all over Mexico to discuss the impact the pandemic is having on each segment and each region. As well as provide support as to how to deal with suspended construction sites and securing liquidity.
