Mr. Piper is a Partner, Co-Head of Europe and member of TPG Real Estate’s Investment Committee, based in London. Prior to joining TPG, he was a Partner in the Real Estate Group at Ares Management, where he spent 12 years, before which he was a member of the European Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Credit Suisse. He received a Masters degree in Physics from the University of Cambridge, where he graduated with First Class Honours. He is also a trustee and Honorary Treasurer of the Royal Trinity Hospice, a charity providing care and support for those with life-limiting conditions in London.

Michael has held the position of Head, Industrial, USA and LatAm since 2022. He oversees the management of Ivanhoé Cambridge’s existing platforms in the USA and Brazil and investment diversification into new geographies and alternative asset classes such as self-storage and data centres. From 2019, Michael acted as VP, Investments, Europe. Michael has worked in investing and real estate for nearly 15 years. Before joining Ivanhoé Cambridge in 2014, he spent five years at Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield as a senior investment and asset manager for the Office and Hotels division. He graduated from HEC Paris in 2008 with a Master of Science in management and economics. He is also a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
