Alexandre David
Biography
Alexandre has more than 25 years of experience in Banking and Capital Markets, across different products and asset classes. After taking a BSc in business degree at Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Alexandre started his career in the market risk department of BESI (now known as Haitong Bank) where he set up the VaR methodology for the bank and participated in a global risk project for the whole banking Espírito Santo group. In 2000 Alexandre moved to the derivatives and structured products desk of Banco Santander de Negócios where he had a lead role on the conception, structuring and execution of complex and innovative derivatives products for private and institutional investors. While at Santander, Alexandre was also involved in streamlining the market risk and volatility hedging activities of the bank. In late 2004, Alexandre was hired by Citigroup, carrying, in his 15 year tenure at the bank, different roles in the Portuguese sales desk.
