Biography

Emilio Izquierdo Merlo is CEO of MARAEY, aimed to become the best sustainable mixed-use development in the world. The project covers a coastal area of 844 hectares and 8.5km of pristine beaches, with world class hotels, highly designed and efficient homes and top health, education (university and school), retail, sport and entertainment facilities. Before joining MARAEY, Emilio worked for 15 years as a consultant and investor in real estate companies and on projects around the world, in countries like Spain, Brazil, United States, France, Morocco, Côte d'Ivoire, Croatia, Albania and India. Graduated in Law at the University of Navarra, he holds several postgraduate degrees in Finance and Real Estate, in the USA, France and Spain.

MARAEY, an IDB Brasil project, will be the most important tourist-residential development in Latin America and a global example of sustainable development, with private investments of US$ 3 billion in a coastal area of 844 hectares.
