Biography

Dan Langlois is the Vice-President and Chief Investment Officer (CIO) at Calgary Foundation, a role he has held since joining in 2012. With an MBA and CFA designation, he previously served as a Senior Portfolio Manager at Mawer Investment Management. At Calgary Foundation, Langlois significantly revamped the endowment portfolio's allocation strategy after 2008, shifting towards alternative assets like private debt, private equity, and real assets to enhance returns and preserve capital. He also championed the launch of the Foundation's impact investment program in 2016, providing loans to charitable organizations. His approach emphasizes seeking out-of-favor assets and ensuring robust cybersecurity measures.
