Biography

Matina Papathanasiou served as Deputy Head of Global Infrastructure and Co-founder at Queensland Investment Corporation (QIC), contributing over 30 years of expertise in global infrastructure investment and institutional funds management. Instrumental in establishing QIC's A$29 billion infrastructure business in 2006, she oversaw significant unlisted equity investments across multiple countries. A Bachelor of Commerce and Laws graduate from UNSW, Matina is also a recognised advocate for diversity and sustainability. Her extensive experience includes board roles with Housing Australia and the UNDRR Investment Advisory Board, and she was honoured with the 2021 Women's Achievement in Infrastructure Award.
