Rafael Mateo Alcalá
Biography
Rafael Mateo Alcalá is the Chief Executive Officer for ACCIONA Energía - Mexico. He was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Acciona Energía in 2021, after joining the ACCIONA Group in 2010 as general manager of its energy division and serving as managing director since 2013. With over three decades of experience, he is a recognized leader in the renewable energy sector. Prior to ACCIONA, Mr. Mateo Alcalá held key positions at Endesa for 27 years, including General Manager of Endesa Chile and General Manager of generation for Endesa Latin America, overseeing operations across several South American countries. He holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Zaragoza, complemented by executive education from IESE and INSEAD Business Schools. He has been instrumental in establishing ACCIONA Energía as a global leader in renewables.
