Paulo Pedrosa
Biography
Paulo Pedrosa is the President of ABRACE (Associação Brasileira de Grandes Consumidores Industriais de Energia e de Consumidores Livres), a role he commenced in February 2019, having previously served from 2011 to 2016. A mechanical engineer from the University of Brasília, Pedrosa possesses extensive experience in Brazil's energy sector. His distinguished career includes serving as Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Mines and Energy, where he was instrumental in proposals for electricity sector restructuring and the Eletrobras privatization project. He also held a position on the board of Aneel (2001-2005) and contributed to companies like Eletronorte and Chesf. Pedrosa is a vocal proponent for competitive energy policies, addressing concerns regarding renewable energy subsidies and advocating for an efficient and cost-effective energy market in Brazil.
