Biography
Luciana Capanema is the Head of Department - Structuring of Sanitation Projects at BNDES (Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social) in Brazil. A Chemical Engineer from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, she also holds a master's in Mining and Metallurgical Engineering. Capanema joined BNDES in 2003, contributing to sectors such as industrial complex support, agribusiness, and innovation. She previously served as Director of Project Financing at SNS-MDR from 2016 to 2019. At BNDES, she is instrumental in developing and structuring sanitation projects to attract investments and advance national goals for universal access to water and sewage services across Brazil, focusing on improving public health and environmental conditions.
