Biography

Ana Corbacho serves as Mission Chief for Brazil at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), where she leads economic surveillance and policy dialogue with Brazilian authorities. An accomplished economist with extensive experience in Latin American markets, she has previously worked on fiscal policy, public finance, and macroeconomic analysis across the region. Dr. Corbacho holds advanced degrees in economics and has contributed to numerous IMF publications on fiscal sustainability, tax policy, and economic development. Her expertise spans monetary policy, financial stability, and structural reforms. At the IMF, she has been instrumental in providing technical assistance and policy advice to emerging market economies, with particular focus on fiscal consolidation and growth-enhancing reforms in Brazil and neighboring countries.
