Biography
Alfonso Salas Trujillo is the CEO of Grupo Puerto de Cartagena, a leading logistics and port platform in the Caribbean. Under his leadership, the group has developed world-class infrastructure and advanced technology, transforming Colombian foreign trade. He is credited with positioning Cartagena as a global port reference and was recently honored with the "José Gutiérrez Gómez" Order of Business Merit by the National Association of Businessmen of Colombia (ANDI) for his significant contributions to the industry and national development. Salas Trujillo's vision has been instrumental in making Cartagena one of the most efficient ports worldwide, recognized by the World Bank and Standard & Poor's. He previously served in the Colombian Navy for 12 years and held executive positions in other private companies before leading the Grupo Puerto de Cartagena since 1993, transforming it from a traditionally inefficient process into a global logistics hub.
