Suman Saha
Biography
Suman has over 25 years’ experience in project finance, investment banking and infrastructure investing and asset management. He established the infrastructure funds management business of the Kotak Mahindra Group (“Kotak”) and heads the business. He joined Kotak in 1995 in its investment banking business, a JV between the Goldman Sachs Group and Kotak. Between 1995 – 2003, Suman ran the project finance advisory and loan syndication desk in the investment bank, advising international and domestic clients on raising project finance loans for infrastructure, power, LNG, steel and automobile projects. Suman began his career in 1993 in project finance in IDBI, India’s then largest financial institution.

Kotak Mahindra Group had been associated with private equity investments since 1997. In 2005, to bring about a sharper focus to this business, Kotak Investment Advisors Limited was set up as the Group’s Alternate Assets practice with its first structured third party private equity and real estate funds.
