Biography

Christoph Schnellmann is the CEO of Noida International Airport (NIA), an upcoming greenfield airport in Uttar Pradesh, India. He leads Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG, responsible for developing and operating NIA. With over two decades of experience in airport management, Schnellmann played a role in the inauguration of Bangalore International Airport, India's first PPP greenfield airport, and oversaw operations at over 100 airports in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa during his tenure at Swissport International. He is focused on delivering an efficient, user-friendly, and sustainable airport for the Delhi-NCR region, aiming for a smooth and safe launch. Under his leadership, NIA is nearing operational readiness, with key milestones achieved, and is expected to begin commercial operations by late 2025. Schnellmann holds a master's degree in philosophy and mathematics from the University of Zurich.

Noida International Airport Ltd.

 Noida International Airport is a 100% subsidiary of Zurich Airport International which has been incorporated to develop the greenfield Noida International Airport in Jewar. The company will be responsible for implementing the Public-Private Partnership project together with the Government of Uttar Pradesh. The infrastructure to be constructed in the first phase by 2024, will be able to accommodate 12 million passengers per year.
