Upgradation of Indian Railways - Are we on the right track?

Nanduri Srinivas serves as the Director of Operations & Business Development at Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL), a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Railways. An esteemed Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) officer of the 1989-batch, he assumed this pivotal role in June 2020 for a five-year tenure. Srinivas brings extensive experience within the railway sector, having held significant positions including General Manager at IRCTC, Executive Director (Coal Movement) at Singareni Collieries Company Limited, and Executive Director (Fuel Transportation) at NTPC Limited. His diverse educational background includes a Master's in Agricultural Economics and certifications in Leadership and Corporate Governance. He is instrumental in driving operational excellence and fostering business growth at DFCCIL.

Sanjeev Kumar Lohia (IRSE-1987) has more than 32 years of experience in the transport and urban development sectors especially in Urban, Rail and bus based transportation systems. He is presently MD &CEO of the Indian Railway Stations Development Corporation (IRSDC) leading the world’s largest Transit Oriented Development (TOD) and PPP programme. He has successfully awarded the first PPP project and first EPC project of Station redevelopment in the country and has been pioneer in partnering with State Govts for joint development of Railway stations.

Mr. Krishna Prakash Maheshwari has over two decades of experience in the infrastructure industry across various sectors and in various capacities. Currently he is heading the Roads, Rail, Metro & Water Business of Adani Group. Prior to joining Adani, Mr. Maheshwari was heading Essel Highways Ltd. Before joining Essel Highways Ltd., Mr. Maheshwari was heading the Integrated Environment Infrastructure business of UPL Ltd. He has also donned various hats during this 12 years stint with Reliance Infrastructure. He was the CEO of metro business and played a key role in the setting up of the first line of Mumbai Metro as well on the Delhi Airport Express.

Mr. Sachin Bhanushali is the Chief Executive Officer and Whole Time Director of Gateway Rail Freight Ltd (GatewayRail) - a wholly owned subsidiary of GDL. He is one of the founders of GatewayRail and has been the architect of GatewayRail brand in intermodal Logistics sector of India. He joined GatewayRail in 2007 as President following a successful career of over 15 years with Indian Railways (Government of India). He was on deputation to CONCOR for about 5 years during his stint with Government of India. He has thirty years of hands-on experience in inter-modal logistics as well as bulk and break-bulk logistics of steel, cement and coal sectors. He holds a Master's degree in Commerce and Business Economics.
