Sarah Smith

Sarah Smith is a highly experienced finance professional in the social housing sector, having served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Optivo. She played a pivotal role during Optivo's formation in 2017 through the merger of AmicusHorizon and Viridian. With over 37 years in the sector, her career highlights include overseeing seven mergers and acquisitions and supporting the introduction of the Sustainability Reporting Standard (SRS) for Social Housing in 2020. She also held leadership positions within industry bodies, including chairing the G15 Finance Directors' Group and serving as Vice-Chair of the NHF's SORP working party. Following Optivo's merger with Southern Housing Group in late 2022, Sarah continued as CFO of the combined Southern Housing, from which she is set to retire in May 2025.
