Carlos Barrera

Carlos "Ucho" Barrera is the Founder and CEO of Atlas Renewable Energy, which he launched in 2017 and has since grown into one of the largest independent solar power producers in Latin America, with nearly 10 GW of contracted projects. Before founding Atlas, he spent six years at SunEdison as Vice President and Managing Director for Latin America, where he built the region’s business from the ground up and oversaw more than $1 billion invested across multiple infrastructure projects. Earlier in his career, he held multiple roles at BP across Oil & Gas, alternative energy, and CCUS ventures in London, Australia, China, and Madrid. Carlos holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from Lehigh University, an Executive MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and a Program for Leadership Development certificate from Harvard University.

Carlos "Ucho" Barrera es el Fundador y CEO de Atlas Renewable Energy, compañía que lanzó en 2017 y que hoy es una de las mayores generadoras solares independientes de América Latina, con cerca de 10 GW de proyectos contratados. Antes de fundar Atlas, trabajó seis años en SunEdison como Vicepresidente y Director General para Latinoamérica, donde impulsó el negocio desde cero hasta invertir más de US$1.000 millones en el desarrollo de proyectos de infraestructura. Previamente, ocupó distintos cargos en BP en las áreas de Oil & Gas, energías alternativas y captura de carbono en Londres, Australia, China y Madrid. Carlos es Ingeniero Mecánico por la Universidad de Lehigh, cuenta con un Executive MBA del Kellogg School of Management.
