Alcio Adler serves as the General Director of Gera Maranhão, a Brazilian company operating thermal power plants. Gera Maranhão, located in Miranda do Norte, Maranhão, has a significant role in the energy sector with a total installed capacity of 332 MW. The company's plants, Geramar I and Geramar II, provide electricity to over 30 power distributors. In 2021, Gera Maranhão secured a 15-year contract in the ANEEL Capacity Reserve Auction.

Gera Maranhão, known as Geradora de Energia do Maranhão S.A., is a Brazilian electricity generation company operating the Gera Maranhão Thermoelectric Plant in Miranda do Norte since 2010. The plant comprises two units, Geramar I and II, with a capacity of 330-332 MW, using fuel oil. It plays a strategic role in the National Interconnected System (SIN), especially in low-water scenarios. Recently, Eneva has been consolidating its acquisition of Gera Maranhão.
