Biography
Martin Olivier is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Atterbury Europe, operating from the Netherlands. A Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)), he started his career at Atterbury in South Africa as a financial manager, working closely with asset and development management teams. At Atterbury Europe, Martin applies a disciplined approach to debt, using it strategically to strengthen the balance sheet, fund new investments, and deliver sustainable shareholder returns. He is responsible for proactively refinancing portfolios and optimizing gearing, having successfully overseen refinancing efforts for assets in Romania and Cyprus, with the Serbian portfolio nearing completion. His expertise also encompasses efficient asset management and maximizing property value.

The European expansion gathered momentum in 2014 when Atterbury co invested with a consortium of private equity investors in forming Atterbury Europe B.V. (“Atterbury Europe”). The platform’s success is evident 5 years later through the combined holding of shares in real estate companies with properties worth more than €1.5 bn spread over 3 countries mainly consisting of dominant shopping centres in prominent locations.
