Mauricio Paz Suarez
Biography
Mr. Paz is an Executive Director at BBVA Colombia where he is responsible for the Construction & Infrastructure and Retail sectors within the Corporate & Investment Banking segment. As such he works closely with corporate clients in strategic and long term transactions from corporate lending, project finance to DCM transactions. Mr. Paz joined Argentaria in 1997 in the Global Risk Department at the NY Office. He spent the following 10 years at the Trade Finance Unit both in Madrid and back in NY where he worked with several clients structuring Exim Bank deals. Prior to joining BBVA, Mr. Paz worked as an engineer both in the USA and its native Colombia. He holds a bachelor degree in Industrial Engineer and an International Finance MBA.
