Biography

Benedito Pinto Ferreira Braga, an accomplished civil and environmental engineer, served as President of SABESP from 2019 to 2023. He holds a Ph.D. in Water Resources from Stanford University and is a Professor at the University of São Paulo. Dr. Braga's distinguished career includes serving on the Board of Directors of Brazil's National Water Agency (ANA), leading the World Water Council (2012-2018), and presiding over the International Water Resources Association. He received the Crystal Drop Award (2002) for his global contributions to water resource management.
